Cyan graduated from the University of Oxford in 2015, reading music. She later joined the prestigious Teach First Leadership Development Programme, earning her PGCE from the UCL Institute of Education. Cyan taught Year 6 classes for two years at an academy in North London, adapting her teaching to meet a range of learning needs while also successfully preparing pupils for statutory examinations. She later enjoyed teaching at a British international school in Madrid, working with children who mostly spoke English as a second language.
Cyan builds positive relationships with her pupils, creating an environment conducive to learning, where pupils feel comfortable to ask questions and challenge themselves. One of Cyan’s main aims is to teach pupils to set high academic expectations for themselves and equip pupils with a range of strategies to be confident, independent learners for life.
Cyan has experience tutoring KS2 pupils in English, maths and music.
After three years of KS2 classroom teaching experience, Cyan now works for an educational charity which provides high-quality music provision to school children from disadvantaged backgrounds. She is passionate about providing children with the right support to thrive.
Cyan qualified to teach Music in 2016, and holds a PGCE from Institute of Education.

"Cyan quickly established a brilliant rapport with our son, who really enjoyed the sessions and looked forward to seeing her each week. She used varied and innovative techniques to make sure he stayed properly engaged for the whole session, and as a result was able to fit a lot into each one. We asked a lot of Cyan in a short space of time, but she responded to the challenge very well, and we were delighted with the progress our son made in that period. The results speak for themselves, and I would happily recommend her to others in a similar position."

We collect references for all of our tutors when they join. Not all referees agree to have their reference publically listed, but when they do we show them here.
Unfortunately, Cyan was only with us for a year. She was a much respected teacher by pupils, staff and parents and will be missed. She is creative and encouraging in her style of teaching. She was quick to get involved in new staff initiatives and led the Year 5 nurture Group.

Cyan is an exceptional educational practitioner. She has obtained excellent results at A Level at the school I was an Assistant Headteacher at, she then went on to achieve an excellent degree from Oxford. Cyan has since taken up employment in a school I was educational consultant for. She time and time again achieved outcomes that surpassed expectations whilst developing professional and friendly relationships with her colleagues. I would not hesitate in employing this individual in my organisation again.

Cyan, like all of our tutors, is a qualified teacher and has been interviewed by us personally. All of our tutors have at least two years of classroom teaching experience and come with fantastic references and criminal records checks.
