Natalie's biography

Natalie graduated with a Bachelor of Education (primary) from Victoria University and Wellington Teachers College (New Zealand) in 1992. She has since obtained her Masters in Education from Hertfordshire University. She pursued an international teaching career spanning 25 years, working in three continents, but with the last 20 years in England. She has ten years of classroom teaching experience in primary school and has specialised for a number of years in reading with a particular focus on comprehension skills and supporting struggling learners. She has experience in tailoring programmes to support children in the KS1 and KS2 SATs.

As an educator, Natalie has held leadership roles in Literacy and learning English as an Additional Language in KS1 and KS2 and has a thorough knowledge of the curriculum standards. She has developed effective strategies for using assessment to inform her teaching to ensure each child has a personalised programme suited to their needs. She has also spent nine years as an education consultant advising school leaders and teachers in how to accelerate the progress of pupils for whom English is an additional language.

Natalie loves working with children and greatly enjoys their passion for learning. She establishes rapport with her students and seeks to adapt lessons to the needs and learning style of the pupils. She creates stimulating and enjoyable learning experiences that ensure the students develop confidence in their own abilities.

Natalie enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and cycling and has coached children's netball. She greatly enjoys creative activities and can often be found doing clay modelling, painting or illustrating with her own two children.
