Millaine is a UK qualified teacher with 20 years’ experience both in a classroom setting and in one to one tuition. She has a track record of helping pupils to grow in self-belief as she supports them in their academic progress.
Millaine tutors primary and secondary children in English and maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Millaine plans and delivers individually tailored, engaging and creative lessons that are taught with high expectations. In one of her previous roles, she was the English and Learning Development Leader responsible for achieving excellent outcomes in English KS1 and KS2 SATS. She believes that developing a child’s core skills is the key to confidence and success in their academic achievements.
Millaine works closely with parents and believes that this is an integral part of helping a child to grow and succeed. She writes and runs workshops for parents in supporting their children at home in reading and phonics. Millaine has extensive experience in successfully supporting pupils with learning differences. She was the senior leader in a Cognition and Learning Team (SEN) in a primary setting. An interest in learning differences and literacy development led her to complete a MA in dyslexia from University College London. She is now a qualified assessor and registered with PATOSS and AMBDA.
Millaine has a background in art with an MA in illustration from the Royal College of Art. She can teach, advise and support children to complete their artwork and analysis to a high level for either specialist school entrance, scholarship applications or GCSE and A level.
Millaine qualified to teach English in 1998, and holds a PGCE from Institute of Education UCL.

Millaine was a well respected member of staff at Sunnyhill. As English lead, she was aware of the needs of all children. She was able to offer support and challenge to pupils depending on their level of need. She led by example, planning innovative lessons which she would model to class teachers. She has an in-depth knowledge of the English curriculum and supported parents, teachers and children throughout her time at Sunnyhill.
