Lizzie has worked with children aiming to attend the following schools:
As a preparatory school teacher, many students Lizzie has taught have taken school entrance exams and been offered places (including academic scholarships). An example of feedback: 'As a result of Lizzie's teaching and support, our daughter was offered places at all five of the schools she applied for. We are very grateful to her and cannot recommend her highly enough.'
Lizzie firmly believes that teaching is one of the most rewarding careers there is, and that primary school is the foundation for children to reach their full potential. Lizzie's interest in the world of education was the reason she read, and greatly enjoyed, Education Studies at Cambridge University. Keen to gain a variety of experiences following her degree, Lizzie spent five years in the corporate world. However, she never found it anywhere near as inspiring as her teaching experience.
Lizzie trained to teach at Fox Primary School - one of the best schools in the UK. She has also taught at a top preparatory school in London. After over four years in the classroom, she is eager to continue her true passion. Lizzie is an enthusiastic, proactive and highly organised tutor, with a proven ability to fully engage and motivate children with creative and interactive lessons, and achieve results.
If Lizzie had to sum up her tutoring approach in one word, it would be motivation. Throughout her teaching experience, she has found that motivation leads to success, and so this is her focus in every single lesson. Lizzie tailors every lesson to the individual child, ensuring strengths are built on and confidence is raised in more challenging areas to maximise their potential. This approach has made a real difference to progress and results. Lizzie believes that the relationship between tutor and tutee is key to successful tuition, so she works very hard to create a really positive, strong relationship. Her energetic and warm personality helps to do that. Fostering a love of learning is also a top priority for Lizzie - her aim is for her students to really enjoy and look forward to their lessons with her!
Lizzie is extremely proud of the progress her students have made both academically and socially. For example, according to recent standardised assessment results, 64% of the students in one of her 11+ classes made 'much higher' than expected progress in Maths (and 14% made 'higher' than expected progress). Lizzie is also very proud of the feedback she has received from parents. During her first year of teaching, the parents made a formal request to the Headmistress for her to continue with the class to the next year.
In her spare time, you will find Lizzie travelling (she has visited 68 countries), at the gym, with her head in a book, or planning her next lesson!
Lizzie qualified to teach Primary education in 2016, and holds a PGCE from Roehampton University.

"I think I cannot even describe how phenomenal Lizzie was... She had an amazing contact with my daughter, she was very supportive and made my daughter feel confident. My daughter was on fire with Lizzie. I believe she gave her very useful tips and covered a broad range of useful topics which helped me prepare my daughter better in this mad rush before the school interview. Very recommended!"

My daughter had the good luck to have Lizzie as her teacher in Year 5. She was my daughter’s favourite teacher at primary school. My daughter came from school each day buzzing with enthusiasm about what she had been taught. Lizzie’s positive approach and smiling, warm personality had a direct impact on her pupils. My daughter said that Lizzie had the perfect mix of kind, inspiring and strict in the right way. As parents, we felt very fortunate to have such an excellent teacher for this important year, leading up to the 11+ exams for entrance to secondary school. As a result of Lizzie’s teaching and support, our daughter was offered places at all five of the schools she applied for. We were so impressed by Lizzie’s thorough preparation at Parents' Evening, that we felt compelled to write to the Headmistress to tell her. Lizzie had a very detailed knowledge of our daughter’s progress, giving carefully thought out examples. She had set individual targets, monitored them carefully, and then set new targets as soon as they had been achieved.
