Nazli's biography:

Nazli´s tutoring career began in 2010 after completing her undergraduate degree in Mathematics at the University of Nottingham. Tutoring one-to-one ignited her passion for teaching and so she decided to qualify as a teacher after her first Master's. Since qualifying as an outstanding teacher through the Teach First scheme in 2013, Nazli has taught a range of exam boards and curriculums in London, Mexico and Scotland. She has collaborated with colleagues in the development of an effective, engaging and inclusive curriculum and has had experience developing and overseeing year group numeracy activities. Her good practice as an effective Mathematics teacher was also presented during continuous professional development workshops to be shared with other teachers.

After teaching in an international school in Mexico City for 3 years, Nazli decided to move back to the UK in 2018 to embark the journey of a Master's in Education at the University of Edinburgh. After completion, she moved back to London to continue her teaching career.

As a teacher, Nazli has been successful in keeping students engaged by adapting to their individual learning styles. As she always says, "there is always more than one way of learning the same topic in mathematics, it is not just black or white". Students respond well to a teacher who is passionate about the subject they are teaching, and so Nazli's passion in Mathematics has been one of the reasons her students have exceeded their expectations. By tailoring to students individual needs and styles, and focusing on positive language, Nazli has been able to build great relationships with her students over the years which in turn has led to amazing results.

Nazli's qualifications:

Nazli taught mathematics at Greengates School, Mexico City from 2015 to 2018. I was fortunate enough to be her colleague during this time. She did an incredible job of teaching a variety of classes at KS3, IGCSE and IB Studies Level. I was particularly impressed by her effort to become quickly familiar with all the new syllabi and technology that were being used by the school. She has demonstrated a thorough understanding of all the material she has been required to teach and was able to develop an excellent rapport with her students. I am very sad to lose her from the department but I understand that she had a need to return to the UK. Nazli is a high energy professional who quickly assumes responsibility and is not afraid to face new challenges and situations. She is also very personable and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with her in department meetings and staff situations, where having a sense of humour is not only valuable but often essential. Not only did she get along well with the faculty but having talked to her students I have appreciated how much she has done for them and how much they respect her. In the department Nazli has been one of the leading lights in the use of technology. She quickly became proficient with the google docs and the TI-84 in the classroom. Nazli achieved excellent results with her IGCSE students and was always prepared to give up her time if students needed extra help. As Head of Department, I would very definitely re-hire Nazli given the opportunity. I think she has the knowledge, skills and application to succeed in any academic establishment she chooses to apply to. I would be happy to enlarge on any of the statements in this recommendation.

I taught Nazli for one year while she was a Masters' student at the University of Edinburgh. She was a pleasure to teach, was always contributing to class discussion and worked to the highest standards. She is intelligent and relates well to others. She would be an excellent tutor for young people.
