Ben has worked with children aiming to attend the following schools:
Ben is a qualified teacher with a PGCE (secondary History) from Cambridge University and two years’ experience teaching History at KS3, GCSE and A-Level. He has also recently worked as a supply teacher at primary level.
Although a History specialist, Ben is currently focusing his tutoring on preparing students for the 11+ exam. He has tutored students for the Emanuel and Alleyn's entrance exams and is currently also teaching in preparation for the KCS Wimbledon, Dulwich College and Westminster exams. Ben can tutor students in both Maths and English. This is helpful for parents who want to work with just one tutor and is an advantage for the student because Ben can get a complete view of their progress.
Ben attended Emanuel School on a academic scholarship and gained three A-Levels at Grade A. He holds degrees from Edinburgh (MA History, First Class) and Harvard (MA Middle East Studies), where he was awarded a Frank Knox Fellowship (a full scholarship based on outstanding leadership potential).
Away from work he is very interested in climate change and is setting up a climate change education programme for schools.
Ben qualified to teach History in 2015, and holds a PGCE (Secondary History) from Cambridge University.
|University Name||Name of degree||Year of graduation|
|Harvard University||MA Middle East Studies||2008|
|University of Edinburgh||MA History||2005|
We collect references for all of our tutors when they join. Not all referees agree to have their reference publically listed, but when they do we show them here.
From the details given, I should think that Ben would be eminently suited to this role. He is personable, committed, reliable, professionally able and knowledgeable. We were very sorry to lose Ben from our staff here after such a short time, in which he made significant contribution to our History department and the teaching and tutoring of pupils from 11-18.

Ben is available for online tuition to students anywhere in the world. Find out more about online tuition.
Ben, like all of our tutors, is a qualified teacher and has been interviewed by us personally. All of our tutors have at least two years of classroom teaching experience and come with fantastic references and criminal records checks.
