Claire's biography

Claire did a Master of Chemistry Degree at the University of Liverpool and achieved a 1st Class. Following this she worked at a Clinical Scientist for the NHS and was promoted to a senior post managing the cardiovascular section of the laboratory. During this time, Claire studied for a MSc in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Manchester. In 2013 Claire trained to become a teacher due to her passion and love of learning and inspiring other in Chemistry and Biology. She worked in both the UK and also Shanghai as a Teacher of Chemistry and Biology and due to her Outstanding teaching record was promoted to Head of Science.

In her spare time Claire enjoys to walk her dog Laika and go running.

IB Experience

Claire has taught IB Standard and Higher level Chemistry for five years. Claire's students achieve well above the World average, with a significant number of level 7 grades. Claire has been on official IB training and is an expert in IA preparation and marking. Her marking is always in agreement with the Chief Examiners. Claire also has experience with Chemistry Extended Essay and her last student achieved an A grade.
