Claire's biography:

Claire is a qualified English and Religious Studies teacher and an ambassador of the Teach First programme.

Claire graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2010 where she achieved a First Class Honours degree in English Literature and Theology. The highlight of her four-year degree was the opportunity to study abroad at the University of California, Santa Barbara for the duration of her third year.

Claire has always enjoyed working with young people in both an educational and pastoral setting. She volunteered for three years with the St Vincent de Paul society while at University, working with disadvantaged children from inner-city Dublin. Her work included leading ‘Kids Club’, a youth club for primary aged children and volunteering as a tutor for under-achieving primary students.

Claire has also gained diverse experience working with children and young people with mental and physical disabilities. She worked for the Seashell trust (formally the Royal School for the Deaf and Communication Disorders) as a care assistant for four years during holidays from University.

Claire's qualifications:

Claire qualified to teach English in 2012, and holds a PGCE (with QTS) from Canterbury Christ Church University.
