Tutor profile - David

My approach is one of flexibility where I will adapt my methods to the needs of learners. Ultimately, the role of a tutor has to be to ensure learners develop problem-solving skills by understanding the approach needed and not simply answer questions with steams of knowledge and textbook facts. They need to be challenged, motivated and shown how to succeed.

I have taught a range of subjects for more than 35 years both in the UK and, more recently, in Thailand and Egypt. Since teaching, I have developed many good attributes that fit in well with the requirements of online tutoring. I have also worked as an examiner for Business Studies and Economics. I am currently an examiner in A Level Business Studies.

I believe that all students if shown the right approach, can achieve good grades and progress on to academic success. My teaching helps students on to this path of success and motivates learners into achieving their best performance. With the ability to teach IGCSE and A Level, this has enabled me to develop a very wide range of experience.

Many students underperform simply because of their approach to examination papers rather than their ability to grasp the subject. This is where I can be of special help.
