Rob's biography

Robert is a linguist with a passion for French and Spanish. He studied French and Welsh at Cardiff University and also has an MA (distinction) in International Development and Education from UCL. Robert's approach is methodical and empathetic, helping his students find enjoyment in the subject by breaking down complex ideas into simple language.

He has spent the last eight years teaching in both state and private schools: after finishing Teach First, he taught at Cranleigh School and then at Reading Blue Coats School where he taught French and Spanish whilst also advising their languages department on how to teach the Edexcel IGCSE French course.

Finally, until July 2022 he worked for four years at the West London Free School where he taught French and Spanish and trained a number of incoming members of staff. In all three of these schools, he always made time to pioneer extra-curricular interventions that targeted pupils who were underperforming in both French and Spanish at GCSE.
