Tutor profile - Jason

Jason is an experienced Physics teacher who has worked in secondary schools for over 5 years, working with students from Key Stage 3 all the way up to Key Stage 5. Whilst he specialises in Physics, he is a big fan of all 3 sciences and loves teaching, discussing and learning anything and everything he can about the natural world. He has helped students achieve the highest grades possible at GCSE with one of his students achieving the top mark in the entire of the UK in his Physics GCSE. He also has a wealth of experience working with students studying for their Physics A-levels, having helped them complete their portfolio of required practicals and taught the required course content.

As an experienced tutor, Jason has experience working one to one with students in an online environment, helping them to understand topics they find difficult and boosting their confidence with challenging concepts. He prides himself on breaking down complicated ideas that are much easier to understand, using a range of techniques including modelling, visualisation and problem solving tasks. His students are made to feel comfortable not always knowing the right answer and asking for help when they need it, he believes that the best learning takes place when students take an active role in both asking and answering difficult questions.

In his spare time Jason loves playing video games, board games and getting outside to go for hikes or playing a few sets of tennis when the weather is right. He is approachable, personably and very patient, willing to work hard to build effective working relationships that help students to achieve their potential.
