We believe that qualified teachers are uniquely positioned to provide outstanding tuition. However, we also recognise that not all qualified teachers excel in their craft. That’s why all of our tutors are not only certified educators but have also successfully passed our rigorous assessment process, proving they are truly exceptional teachers!

A placement fee of £95 is payable for each tutor that is introduced to you - this will only be charged if a tuition session takes place and will be added to your first invoice.
There are no registration fees. This means that you can meet a tutor without having to pay anything. You will only be invoiced if you engage one of our tutors to deliver tuition after having discussed your requirements with them.
Why do our tutors cost what they do?
They are all experienced qualified teachers.
Many of our school entrance tutors have significant experience and track records in preparing students for competitive school entrance exams
Many of our tutors are also examiners
They have achieved academic excellence themselves
Many of our tutors have achieved other relevant skills such as qualifications to assist students with special educational needs
How can I save money when using an Owl Tutor
Consider online tuition if you have not already done so. Most students at KS2 or above will have no problem engaging just as efficiently with an online tutor than a face to face one. Face to face tuition can be up to 50% more expensive for the same tutor!
Consider shorter sessions. Most tuition sessions are one hour. 40 minute sessions can often be effective and could reduce your fees by 33%.
Find out if there are times that you can offer to your tutor that are more convenient for them. Most tutors find it difficult to fill their hours during the day (9am to 3pm) in the week. Many of them will accept lower rates at these times.
How do our fees work?
Our tutors set the rates that they wish to be paid on each job. The rate that they will request will be dependent on a number of factors including:
The rate they wish to earn per hour
Whether the job is face to face or online
How much preparation time is required for each session
The tutor's remaining availability
Will's biography
Will is an experienced teacher who has taught for over five years, with the last two in an Ofsted Outstanding school in South London. He qualified in Secondary Education in 2021 and specialises in KS3 and KS4. Will has taught both secondary English and English as a Foreign Language and is Cambridge certified (CELTA). Will has been the Curriculum Lead for multiple KS3 years and has tutored many students on a one to one basis.
Will is experienced at working with school refusers and pupils who enjoy school but are in need of some one to one support. Areas Will has previously supported students with include:
- Consolidating key topics which have been flagged by internal examinations or subject teachers.
- Building student confidence and resilience.
- Developing revision plans and coping methods to deal with exam stress.
Will also works with children who are home-schooled and/or have additional educational needs. As a beneficiary of tutoring himself, Will understands the importance that developing a strong relationship with a tutor can have to improving the academic prospects of a child. Will focuses on:
- Listening to parents/carers and providing regular, honest communication and feedback.
- Connecting with each individual to build a comfortable, trusting and motivational relationship between tutor and tutee.
- Developing the confidence and inner voice of every learner so that they feel more prepared to tackle areas of learning they feel 'weaker' in.
- Creating tailored, bespoke lessons for each student with set goals and utilising a variety of resources to make learning fun!
Will understands and empathises with the challenges that mainstream education can present both pupils and parents. Will works particularly well with students who lack confidence, or who shine best when engaged with on a one-to-one basis. He aims to help students to develop a life-long love of learning and to be more confident in themselves and their abilities.
Outside of tutoring, Will is an avid reader, international traveller and comedy lover. When not working, he can be found trawling London's libraries, museums and obscure historical locations!
