We enjoyed working with Holly and she got us a great result! She was knowledgeable, punctual, professional and friendly. I think one thing for future parents and tutors to consider is how different kids react to online teaching - my son was fine, my daughter found it strange and hard to focus for a while. I’m sure there are strategies for dealing with this but it might be good to have this conversation with parents at the beginning of the relationship. With just 10 weeks to go before a school entrance exam, Melisa rapidly identified our child’s strengths and weaknesses to then focus on specific areas in order to help them succeed and pass the test. We are very grateful for her targeted but low pressure approach to tuition which worked well for us.

At fairly short notice Owl Tutors secured an in person tutor who met our requirements and exceeded our expectations - certainly not the cheapest provider out there but the quality of the tutors and the highly efficient service was worth every penny!
Nicky has been a fantastic tutor to our son. She took him on with just three months to go before his MCS entrance exam and successfully raised his performance from a Level 5 at school to a Level 9 in mock tests. Her enthusiasm for English, clear structure, effective approach, and deep understanding of leading independent school examinations are exceptional. Everything she taught him was both relevant and essential to his success in the exam. We owe Nicky enormous gratitude for her dedication, effort, and commitment to ensuring he was fully prepared for every eventuality.

My daughter had in-person English lessons with Jacqueline in preparation for her 7+ entry. She thoroughly enjoyed every lesson and always looked forward to seeing Jacqueline each week. Jacqueline has excellent qualifications and strong expertise in teaching English. In particular, she supported my daughter greatly in developing her creative writing and comprehension skills. With Jacqueline’s guidance and encouragement, my daughter made significant progress and went on to receive two lovely school offers. Owl Tutors has been very straight forward to navigate from the beginning of signing up to the service through to completion. I haven’t needed to have much direct personal contact with them over the last 18 months (which is a good sign), due to the fact that I received regular email correspondence regarding my daughter’s progress. The service has been hassle free with no hidden surprises. Highly recommend.

I contacted Owl Tutors to discuss support for my son Xavi ahead of 11+ entrance exams. The team offered valuable advice, demonstrating extensive experience and knowledge. This led to an introduction to Chrissie, who has tutored Xavi for the past 6 months. This has been an excellent experience with Chrissie providing detailed feedback after each session and iterating the focus areas and homework assignments to focus on areas in need of development. Ria has been amazing so far! She really understands exactly what our son needs to progress and how to help him learn it in a fun way, so he stays engaged. Lessons are also structured very well.
Sallie is an excellent tutor, and we have been amazed by the progress our daughter made in just 2 months. Her maths reports at school have shown a steady improvement, and she has been consistently getting 6 or 7 out of 8 in her recent tests, up from 5 out of 8 prior to engaging Sallie.

Wonderful at building confidence, not just skills
I’m very pleased Alan is teaching my son Further Maths IGCSE. His in-depth knowledge and outstanding teaching ability has made it possible to cover the whole curriculum in just 3 months.
We have been extremely pleased with the tuition which we have received from Lucy Cooper. Our son is really enjoying the sessions and finds them challenging enough to stretch his knowledge, without being too difficult. Since starting his tuition with Lucy, our son has received very positive feedback from his English teacher at school. His grades are improving and he is clearly making good progress and growing in confidence as a result of the tuition. Lucy puts a great deal of effort into planning the sessions to ensure that they are interesting, whilst also tackling the areas which our son needs to work on. Lucy also sets our son homework related to the topics covered in the sessions, which adds extra value to the tuition fees.
My daughter really enjoyed her sessions and Sian is clearly a kind, patient and effective teacher. Would recommend.
