You will have the opportunity to listen to a Head’s Talk and then have a tour of the school with a pupil. Book here in the new year to reserve a space.

Assessment(s)

For applicants aiming to achieve a place in September 2026, the assessment morning takes place in January 2027.

In English, the assessment will include a listening exercise, oral exercises, word recognition, spelling, reading comprehension and writing. In Maths, Candidates will be assessed on number, shape space and measure, handling data and using and applying mathematics. The tests follow the age appropriate national curriculum expectations for the Year group. Part of the tests involve standardised testing which take into account the child’s age at taking the test. The second stage (by invitation only) takes place on 17th January 2026.

The school does not provide sample papers for 7+. However, the school does provide sample papers for Reading Comprehension, Maths and Creative writing for 9+ which can be accessed via the Admission section of their website, https://www.alleyns.org.uk/page.aspx?id=167

Alleyn’s Junior school does not offer any form of scholarship or bursary.

Results

For entry in September 2027, offers are sent out to successful applicants in January 2027. Acceptance of the offer must be received by the school in February 2027. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure the place.

Unsuccessful candidates will be placed on a waiting list. When a place arises they will be reconsidered based on their results in the assessments. The waiting list remains open and active until the September following the assessments.
