Yasmin was able to understand my son’s strengths and weaknesses from the very first lesson. She provided him with the tools and techniques to help him to develop his ideas and revise texts. This in turn gave him the confidence that he was lacking in the lead up to the GCSE exams. My son found Yasmin’s support extremely helpful.

SEN Experience

Yasmin has experience working with students with the following SEN needs:

  • ADHD/ADD
  • Anxiety/Depression
  • ASD
  • Dyslexia
Yasmin has extensive experience supporting children and young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and mental health concerns such as anxiety. Over the years, she has developed a particular interest in understanding and supporting neurodivergent individuals. During her time teaching in schools, she independently completed a variety of modules and CPD courses to deepen her knowledge of dyslexia and to develop effective, evidence-informed strategies to support students in the classroom. This enhanced understanding not only strengthened her own practice but also enabled her to deliver training to colleagues within her department. In addition to her professional experience, Yasmin is personally close to many neurodivergent individuals, including members of her family. This has further strengthened her commitment to advocating for strengths-based approaches that recognise individuality and creativity, nurture potential and celebrate difference. For both personal and professional reasons, she has also undertaken further specialist training to broaden her understanding of ADHD and autism. Please see below for a list of further training Yasmin has completed related to SEN. Dyslexia: Practical Solutions for Higher Level Literacy Skills, British Dyslexia Association (2020) Supporting Children with Difficulties in Reading and Writing, University of London (2019) Autism and ADHD: Understanding ADHD, The Centre for ADHD and Autism Support (2025) Understanding PDA and Positive and Practical Strategies for PDA, SEND Station Ltd (2025) Living with ADHD and Autism, The Centre for ADHD and Autism Support (2023) Understanding ADHD, The Open University (2023)
