Catherine's biography

Catherine is a creative and kind qualified science teacher with 15 years' experience and a passion for making digital learning engaging and fun.

As the foundations of knowledge are very important when learning science, Catherine’s approach is to find out what her tutees already understand and then to build their knowledge step by step, addressing missing connections and confusions via careful questioning and assessment of student progress. Her patient manner and skills built up over many years in the classroom provide her with a wide range of approaches, tips and tricks to support every individual’s success in science.

Catherine is also an Apple Distinguished Educator, which means she has been recognised by Apple as an expert in using digital technology to support learning. She therefore strives to make good use of digital tools to support learning both online and in-person. She has taught many different GCSE exam specifications over the years, including AQA, OCR and Edexcel, and can confidently adapt to suit each different specification as needed.
