Joseph graduated from University College London, following this he completed his PGCE and qualified as a teacher of Science.
At UCL he studied Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Philosophy of Science, Evolutionary Biology and various other scientific fields. Joseph enjoys sharing his passion for science with his students. He started tutoring while at university and this caused him to pursue a career in education. Joseph has helped students gain work experience in hospitals, delivered trips to the the Royal Society of Medicine, taken students to tour the Houses of Parliament.
Joseph has over a decade of experience as a full time science teacher. His responsibilities included leading the Young Enterprise and Duke Of Edinburgh programmes, managing whole department curriculum delivery, and developing medical school applicants. He has worked with young people from a broad spectrum of backgrounds as a tutor, mentor and sports coach. He enjoys cycling, restoring bikes, camping, philosophy and travelling.
School teaching performance appraisals have highlighted Joseph's passion for science as a strength in his practice. Additionally Joseph is consistently effective in helping students progress by setting high expectations and by developing strong relationships. As a tutor Joseph identifies students needs through target questioning and open dialogue. He encourages students to reflect on their academic weaknesses while modelling study techniques that build skills, knowledge and understanding.
