Are you hoping for your child to win one of the 180 places at The Tiffin Girls’ School at 11+? Holly, an experienced teacher and school entrance tutor, has written a fantastic overview to help you.
The Tiffin Girls’ School has a significant intake of girls at 11+, with about 180 students joining at this point.
As an over-subscribed state school, The Tiffin Girls’ School publishes its admissions number two years in advance. Dates for registration, using local authority guidelines, are strict. An additional form, a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) must be submitted alongside the application, and there is a Designated Area (postcodes) in which almost all current pupils live. Please ask your tutor if you need any help with this!
The deadline for this year’s SIF (Supplementary Information Form) for The Tiffin Girls’ School is 4th September 2023. Applications made after the deadline will not be accepted.
The key to 11+ entry to The Tiffin Girls’ School is careful preparation for each stage of the entry process. Places are awarded on the basis of performance in a two-stage process. The first stage is examinations in English and Maths, marked by computer. Examinations take place on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th October 2023 for Year 6 girls (the school year before admission), when students will be 10 or 11 years old. Following this, successful candidates are invited to a second-stage series of written examinations in English and Maths (marked by hand), which will take place in November 2023. Offers are then sent out on the basis of performance at both stages, with strict admissions criteria published on the school website.
