Holly has worked with children aiming to attend the following schools:
I have helped three students to gain scholarships at King’s College Canterbury and five others to gain places. I have helped four students to gain scholarships at Tonbridge School and eight others to gain places. One of my pupils achieved a scholarship to Harrow School last year and his English Mark was particularly commended by the examiners. I have been 100% successful for my pupils at Common Entrance English and the English result is often one of their top grades. One of my former pupils who I helped to achieve an academic scholarship at Sevenoaks School has recently started at Cambridge University, and a former pupil at Benenden School who I mentored recently graduated from Oxford.
Holly studied at Durham University where she gained a degree in English Literature and Music, and then moved to London where she gained a Masters at King's College. After this she worked at Middlesex University, whilst studying for her Ph.D which was awarded in 2004. She has over ten years' experience teaching in the independent school sector at both prep and senior level, and over twenty years’ teaching experience in total. She is passionate about getting children to love English, and particularly loves tackling creative writing. She is committed as an educational professional to identifying and achieving each child's full potential.
Holly qualified to teach English in 2009, and holds a PGCE from Goldsmith's College, University of London.

"Holly is a very organized, calm, thoughtful, encouraging and understanding tutor. Our son has been very happy with Holly and he very much looks forward to meeting Holly online each week. Holly has worked hard at getting to know our son which is often difficult on an online platform. Holly has worked excellently at encouraging him and improving his confidence. This is exactly what we were looking for and I am tremendously pleased to say that our expectations have been met. He produced a lovely piece of creative writing based on his personal likes and we were all very impressed. Thank you, Holly."

"Many thanks for Holly's effort in tutoring my 15-year-old daughter. My daughter has had an interest in English and English Literature and would like to learn the most of these subjects. Joining a UK boarding school at the beginning of Term 2 of Year 10 is a bit hard for her to catch up with the syllabus and teaching style. She herself aims high and did not want herself to be left behind.
At the end of Term 2, she asked if we could find her an experienced tutor to guide her. Holly is such a competent, passionate, responsible and intelligent person in knowing what gaps my daughter needs to be filled in. After a term -long, weekly tuition by Holly, Allie has successfully grabbed the skills in approaching English literature, started to enjoy English lessons at school a lot. The grades and comments given by her school English teacher is already a strong evidence in showing everyone, including herself, the big improvement. Now, my daughter has gained not only competence in English Literature and Language but her level of confidence in subjects have obviously been boosted up.
Holly, thanks for being a passionate and diligent tutor in delivering well-structured lessons with devices to engage my daughter. She finds your lessons interesting and definitely on her way moving up to another level."
