Richard's biography

Richard has been teaching in IB schools for more than 15 years. He has taught both the MYP and the DP in Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, China and Ireland. As well as teaching, Richard has been a Grade Level Head Teacher, Personal Project Supervisor, and has supported students with their EEs, IAs, and all IB assessments since 2009. ¨Richard has previously taught MYP Language and Literature, and DP History. He is currently teaching DP Language and Literature, MYP Individuals and Societies, and Theory of Knowledge (TOK), as well as being the Extended Essay coordinator in his school.

Richard is a personable, experienced, responsive educator who enjoys supporting students and helping them achieve their fullest potential. He prides himself on his professionalism, and his experience in giving specific, actionable, and timely feedback. TOK, EE and IA support are where Richard feels most at home.

IB Experience

Richard has taught the IBDP since 2016. He has taught TOK since then, and has taught DP History in his current school. Starting in September, Richard will also be the DP Language and Literature teacher. He has a great deal of experience supporting students with their EEs, IAs, TOK Exhibitions and Essays, and CAS.

Richard has also taught MYP Individuals and Societies and Language and Literature.

Richard is the current EE Coordinator in his school and has been an EE Supervisor since 2016.

For 5 years he was the Grade Level Lead with direct responsibilities for, on average, 110 students each year.

He has also been a classroom tutor to DP students since 2022.

Richard has qualifications in teaching English Language and in teaching students who speak more than one language.
