In-Person Tuition at Owl Tutors

Where do you offer home tuition?

The vast majority of our face-to-face tuition takes place in and around London. However, as we continue to grow, we now have tutors based across the UK who are able to provide home tuition. Please contact us to check tutor availability in your area or use our tutor search function.

Where does tuition take place?

Typically, tuition takes place at the student’s home. Where parents are happy to travel, a number of our tutors are able to provide tuition from their own homes. In such cases, we expect our tutors to create a quiet and calm work space for sessions. Tuition will usually take place at a desk in a home office or at a dining room table. Where you have agreed to find a half-way meeting point with your tutor, lessons can take place at a local library, museum or gallery or quiet coffee shop. This should be arranged directly with your tutor.

The benefits of home tuition

With recent changes, we have all become very used to working remotely and online. We appreciate that online tuition isn’t for everyone, and face-to-face sessions can be particularly effective for young learners and help to build rapport between tutor and tutee.

Mixing home and online tuition

Many of our tutors are happy to arrange an initial face-to-face session to “get to know” their new student in person. Where travel requirements make in-person tuition difficult to do on a weekly basis, tuition can then move online, perhaps with the occasional in-person session during the school holidays.
Jamie is an expert tutor, highly knowledged and very patient . Despite being with him for a short time so far we can see visible improvements in Aarush in both English and verbal reasoning. Jamie plans the lessons very well and makes sure the child grasps the concepts and progresses steadily.
Great! Listened to what student needed. Focused on student needs! Very encouraging.
Georgie was a fantastic tutor. Our son absolutely loved his sessions with her.
Outstanding all round. Extremely good knowledge, communication, planning, constructive feedback combined with tailored balanced approach to the pupil.
Dominic helped my year 11 dyslexic son with preparation for his English GSCEs. He developed a good rapport with my son & helped increase both his confidence & competence. I would recommend Dominic unreservedly.
