How to get into Westminster Under School at 7+

Introduction
Westminster Under School is the junior division of Westminster School (otherwise known as ‘Great School’) and caters for boys ages 7-13. 22 boys are admitted at 7+.
Boys can enter Westminster Under School at 7+, 8+ and 11+ and Westminster School at 13+. Both boys and girls can enter the school at 16+. There may be occasional places available in other year groups (Years 5 and 6).
Before you apply
Before applying to Westminster Under, prospective parents and students are encouraged to book a place on one of their open mornings. This can be done via the Admissions section of their website or at the following link:

The school offers open mornings and afternoons in the Autumn and Summer Terms. In Autumn 2024, the open afternoon date is Tuesday 24th September 2024. The open morning in the Summer Term 2025 will be in May. These open mornings will involve a talk from the Headmaster of Westminster School, a tour of the school and an opportunity to speak to subject specialists.
The current fees for 2024/2025 for Westminster Under is £8,625 per term. This works out to be £25,875 per year. Bursaries can be applied for once the child has attained a place at Westminster Under. Further details of this can be found on the Admissions section of the website.

Online applications for Westminster Under can be submitted up to 2 years before the proposed time of entry.
Assessment(s)
The school holds an assessment morning for candidates for entry at 7+. For entry into Westminster Under at 7+ in September 2025, this is scheduled for Friday 18th October 2024 with interviews and further assessments on Wednesday 6th November 2024.
The assessments are in English, Maths and Reasoning and are taken on iPads provided by the school. Sample papers are available on the website.
Results
Successful applicants will receive offers by Monday 11th November 2024. The acceptance deadline for parents is Tuesday 28th January 2025.
Destination schools
The majority of boys from Westminster Under progress to Westminster School, with a small number choosing to go elsewhere such as Eton or Winchester.
