Born in Liverpool, Chris has over 25 years of teaching experience. He graduated from The University of Nottingham in 1985 with a Joint Honours degree in Spanish and French. After teaching in Madrid for a year and working in London, Chris completed his PGCE in TESOL and Modern Languages at the University of London's Instutute of Education in 1990.
After gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Chris worked as a volunteer English teacher (with Voluntary Service Overseas) in a small village school in Eastern Indonesia from 1990 to 1996.
Following this, Chris worked in the VSO Indonesia head office in Jakarta, helping to organise the extensive volunteer programme in Indonesia.
In 2001 he returned to the UK and worked in schools in Liverpool until 2009. During this time he gained considerable experience teaching in both Secondary and Primary schools.
In 2009 he moved with his family to Phuket, Thailand and has been working in the British International School, Phuket (an IB World school) since that time.
In Phuket he has taught both French and Spanish at primary and secondary level, including IGCSE and IB (Spanish Language B and Ab initio). He has also taught English Language B at SL and HL level.
IB Experience
Chris has been teaching IB courses every year since 2009. Courses taught include Spanish Ab initio, Spanish Language B (SL and HL), English Language B (SL and HL).
