Melissa

Melissa is a qualified (Outstanding) teacher with ten years professional experience working at three top Independent schools: Highgate, King’s College Wimbledon and North London Collegiate. She taught Classics (Latin, Greek, Classical Civilisation) from years 7 to 13 and History of Art at sixth form level. Her students enjoyed great success and attained top results, often the best in the school of that respective year group. She also has extensive experience in supporting students with their Personal Statements for UCAS and preparing them for Oxbridge interviews. She herself studied at Wycombe Abbey and read Classics at Edinburgh University where she graduated with the highest First in her year. She went on to do a Masters in Classics at Oxford University, Magdalen College and graduated with a Distinction. She has 15+ years’ experience tutoring students 1-1 in Classics, History of Art and English. She left Highgate after 6 years in 2022 to train as a life coach and set up Ithaca Coaching UK. She coaches students and young adults to increase their confidence and self-esteem alongside her continuous work as a passionate and dedicated teacher of the Humanities.
