Erica

Erica is a patient, friendly and knowledgeable teacher able to inspire. Her focus is on conceptual understanding over procedural knowledge. She is able to identify and correct misconceptions. She is quickly able to ascertain current levels to ensure teaching is challenging but not overwhelming. Erica has a Master's degree in Physics and Astrophysics from Leicester University. She has been teaching and leading maths and science in schools for over 15 years. She was awarded 'teacher of the year' by the local education authority while working at a British International School.

Erica has had great success tutoring students in maths and physics. Over an intensive Easter-holiday intervention, she helped a student from a prominent English public school move from a D-grade to an A in their IGCSE maths. She’s helped many students achieve the exam grades they are looking for, enabling them to move on to the colleges and universities of their choice. A recurrent testimony is that they couldn’t have done it without her.

Over and above exam results though, are reviews describing students that were struggling with a subject but went on to not only enjoy it, but to choose it for A-level study or a career.
