Robert has an academic background in both History and Classics, and a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford in Greek and Roman History. He spent four years as Head of History at the West London Free School, one of the most successful and high-profile non-selective schools in London. He has taught both History and Classics for the whole six years he has been a qualified teacher, and has extensive experience teaching both subjects at both GCSE and A Level. He has experience with the OCR qualifications for both History and Classics, and also Edexcel for History. Under Robert's supervision, the West London Free School History department achieved its best-ever A Level results (in the 2022 exams), with 58% of students achieving an A or A*, 100% achieving A* to C, and a progress score of 0.42.
Robert has extensive experience instructing and guiding students at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, and a strong track record of attaining excellent results at all levels. He has particular experience working closely with Sixth Form students to develop research, writing, and university application skills, and has had thirteen students accepted to study History at Oxford or Cambridge after working in his Oxbridge interview preparation program. He is also one of the authors of the Knowing History textbook series published by Harper Collins, one of the most successful school History textbook series in the British market.
