Tutor profile - Gao

Gao is a native Mandarin Chinese speaker and a qualified teacher, with both PGCS and an MSc degree. Between 2015-2022, she was the Head of Chinese at a well-known all-boys school in Oxfordshire. During this period, her key achievements were very strong performance in her teaching, GCSE/HSK exam results, and university applications including Oxbridge. From the success of her pupils, Gao firmly believes that Chinese is accessible to everyone, even those who think they are not good at languages.

Gao has also become a GCSE/A level Examiner, A level exam paper Revisor and co-authored a Chinese HSK Textbook and workbook. Additionally, Gao worked freelance and has taught pupils from years 3 to 8 in an extra-curricular Chinese club at a prestigious independent prep school for over 8 years. She has also successfully tutored pupils for GCSE and HSK courses.

Gao is a very credible individual, well respected and dedicated to her students. Currently, she has decided to become self-employed and is looking to open more Chinese clubs in primary schools in her local area, whilst continuing to work for exam boards and individuals who need her help.
