Kevin has a wealth of experience helping students to make sense of Maths. He has 36 years' in-school and 8 years' online experience teaching Maths to students from age 11 to 18, all abilities and levels up to GCSE Maths, GCSE Further Maths, A-level Maths and A-level Further Maths.
Kevin also has extensive experience as an IGCSE Maths tutor supporting students both domestically in the UK and international students with both the Edexcel IGCSE and the Cambridge CIE.
He has been an Associate Consultant for the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (with MEI), and an examiner for Edexcel.
He has excellent results and feedback from his teaching and tuition work, ranging from students who need numeracy help, to those aiming for the top grades at A-level and GCSE. Kevin is good at inspiring confidence in students, encouraging them to realise they can solve problems by themselves.
He includes exam technique guidance in lessons and also teaches GCSE Further Maths.
Kevin has been Co-ordinator for KS4 (GCSE) Maths, Co-ordinator for Numeracy, and Co-ordinator for KS5 (A-level) Maths at secondary school, and has organised, marked and moderated GCSE Mathematics coursework. Kevin has examined at GCSE and A-level, and contributed to the current AQA specification for A-level Mathematics and its specimen exam questions.
Kevin is interested in Astronomy, Maths and Natural History, and contributes to wildlife surveys and transects in the Peak District where he lives.
