Sophie's biography

Sophie is a UK qualified History and Politics teacher from London. She loves working with people from diverse backgrounds. She mostly worked with people who were 11+ and was a Sixth Form tutor, advising students on applications for universities all over the world (including UK, US, Europe, Singapore, and Australia). Her experience, in both UK schools and international schools, includes teaching IB History (SL and HL), A-level (AQA and Edexcel), IGCSE, and KS3. She taught at UK state and top private schools for five years before moving to the international school sector. As an international educator she worked in Vietnam's top international school for four years, where she gained IB experience and served as the GCSE leader and Theory of Knowledge Coordinator. Most importantly, she also developed expertise in working with multi-lingual learners. Furthermore, she was also the EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion) Coordinator, delivering training to staff and parents on third culture kids, alongside a published author and expert.

Currently, Sophie is working online as tutor and educational consultant. She is also an adventure enthusiast. In addition to being a yoga instructor, she is a keen runner and endurance athlete. Last August, she ran 300km across the Bartang Valley, Tajikistan - a total average of a marathon a day. This was an incredibly remote area where they had to rely on each other as a team. She also loves cycling, swimming, and yoga.
