Helen studied Mathematics at the University of London and has maintained a lifelong passion for the subject. From the beginning of her career, she has been motivated by a belief that Mathematics is not simply a set of rules and techniques, but a rich, logical, and elegant discipline. She is deeply committed to inspiring students to appreciate the beauty of Mathematics, particularly the patterns, structure, and coherence that underpin the subject. With 30 years of experience in education, Helen has taught GCSE Mathematics, Level 3 Core Mathematics, A Level Mathematics, and A Level Further Mathematics. This extensive experience has enabled her to work successfully with students of differing abilities, backgrounds, and aspirations. Her teaching approach emphasises secure conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and clear mathematical communication, alongside the development of confidence and resilience. Helen has also worked as an examiner for both Edexcel and AQA, giving her an excellent understanding of assessment objectives, mark schemes, and common student misconceptions. This examiner insight allows her to teach with clarity and focus, ensuring students are well prepared for examinations while maintaining a strong emphasis on genuine mathematical understanding.
