Elizabeth

Elizabeth is an experienced online teacher and tutor of French and Spanish, with more than seven years of teaching experience, both online and in-person. She graduated with first-class honours in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) from the University of Bristol in 2009 and has a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the University of Manchester (2020). Prior to teaching, she worked in the House of Commons and HM Treasury as part of the prestigious Graduate Fast Stream programme for UK civil servants.

Elizabeth specialises in exam preparation for all boards and levels: GCSE, A-Level, IB, and general language classes from beginner to advanced level for adults. As a British person who has mastered two European languages to near-native level, she understands the unique challenges faced by native English speakers when it comes to learning languages. Elizabeth´s teaching style is very friendly, approachable and patient, as she is aware of how important it is to feel comfortable and at ease when learning foreign languages. Maximising student confidence and enjoyment is as important to her as improving grades (though normally these things all go hand in hand!).

Regarding methodology, Elizabeth seeks to maximise the amount of time spent speaking in the target language in order to encourage maximum fluency and improve listening comprehension. Her classes are stimulating, highly interactive, and results-driven, and seek to incorporate authentic materials from French and Spanish culture and press. Together with Elizabeth you will create a plan to address grammar and vocabulary needs in a systematic, methodical way which will help you to achieve real improvements in all the key language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

Elizabeth lives in Huelva, Spain with her family. For this reason, only online classes are available.
