Olivia

Olivia is an experienced primary school teacher with seven years of classroom experience across both independent and state schools. She is passionate about helping children develop confidence, curiosity and a genuine love of learning, and is excited to bring her classroom expertise into a more personalised tutoring environment. Olivia studied Philosophical Studies at Newcastle University, where she graduated with a 2:1. After university, she worked as a Teaching Assistant for two years, developing a strong understanding of how children learn and the importance of providing individual support. She then completed her PGCE with Buckingham University, achieving an Outstanding grade. During her teacher training, she undertook placements at Garden House School and Thomas’s Academy, gaining valuable experience across different educational settings.

Following qualification, Olivia began her teaching career at Thomas’s Academy, completing her NQT year while teaching Year 3 before moving to Year 2. She then joined Knightsbridge Preparatory School, where she continued teaching Year 2, before moving to St Anne’s Primary School. There, she taught Year 2 for three years, preparing pupils for KS1 SATs and taking an active role in assessment and data moderation. In her final year, she taught a mixed Year 1/Year 2 class, further strengthening her ability to differentiate teaching and meet the needs of children working at a wide range of abilities.

Alongside her classroom teaching, Olivia has held several leadership responsibilities, including leading English, Phonics and Science, as well as serving as Behaviour Lead. These roles enabled her to support colleagues, develop curriculum provision and promote high standards of teaching and learning throughout the school.

Olivia believes that every child learns differently and thrives when teaching is carefully adapted to their individual strengths, interests and areas for development. She enjoys building positive relationships with pupils and creating engaging, encouraging lessons that help children feel confident, motivated and capable of achieving their potential. She is particularly excited by the opportunity tutoring provides to offer truly personalised learning, enabling children to make meaningful progress at their own pace while fostering independence and self-belief.

Outside of education, Olivia has a passion for the arts and enjoys painting. She is currently developing her own small business creating hand-painted watercolour greeting cards, combining creativity with careful attention to detail. She brings this creativity into her teaching, making learning enjoyable, engaging and memorable for every child she works with.
