Lucy is an experienced and passionate teacher who studied at the University of Nottingham where she gained a Bsc in Psychology. Following this, she then moved to Kent to gain her Qualified Teacher Status through the Teach First leadership development program at Canterbury Christ Church University. Upon completion of her QTS she moved to London to gain experience in a diverse, central school setting. Whilst teaching at this school, she completed a Masters in Education with a focus on improving creativity in the primary school curriculum.
Her passion for creative and engaging learning is also demonstrated by her role as Art lead at her current setting, where she has improved creative enrichment through trips, workshops and increased autonomy of children over their own learning. Overall, Lucy has a strong understanding of the primary National Curriculum with 5 years teaching experience and exposure to a range of children of varying needs in both KS1 and KS2. These include, children with English as an additional language, ADHD, ASD, speech and language difficulties and global developmental delay.
Her teaching style is rooted by a strong belief of developing life-long learners by building relationships with her pupils to increase an enthusiasm in understanding the complex world around them. She sees and importance in tailoring learning towards their interests and specific needs of the child but also exposing them to new concepts to further their hobbies.
