Thomas is a qualified and experienced primary school teacher with extensive experience teaching Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in leading independent schools. He has held a range of classroom and specialist roles at schools in London and Sydney. Thomas obtained his bachelors degree in Primary Education (First Class Honours) from the University of Technology Sydney. He has taught large and small groups of students, but now wants to focus his skills on tutoring individuals.
Thomas has taught students with a wide range of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD and dyslexia. He confidently differentiates work to meet the academic abilities of his students, whilst also tailoring lessons to align with their interests and individual learning style. Thomas' teaching practice is characterised by building rapport with his students and helping them develop greater confidence in their ability to learn and overcome challenges.
Thomas is most passionate about teaching humanities and creative arts subjects, such as history, writing, and even illustration. However, he has a talent for engaging students with the study of mathematics and making difficult concepts accessible and tangible. Thomas prides himself on crafting fun and creative learning experiences that draw upon his range of skills and expertise.
