School Entrance Experience

Kate is currently tutoring a child for their London schools consortium 11+ exam who attends Queens College Prep and child who is preparing for the Kent and Medway tests.

She has experience of supporting students to pass their 13+ and 11+ at various independent and grammar schools in the Kent, Sussex and Southeast London region. Kate has a proven track record of success with all students passing and or gaining their scholarships.

Kate has also supported students to gain access to London Academy of Excellence for sixth form.

SEN Experience

Kate has experience working with students with the following SEN needs:

Kate is a qualified SENCO and former Director of SEND with extensive experience supporting learners with a wide range of additional needs from both a teaching and leadership perspective. She has worked across both state and independent education sectors, giving her a strong understanding of differing systems, expectations and pathways. She has collaborated closely with families, schools and external professionals to implement personalised strategies and reasonable adjustments to ensure students can access learning effectively. Kate’s experience includes supporting students with ASC (including PDA profiles), ADHD/ADD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, processing difficulties, speech and language needs, SEMH, emotionally based school avoidance, anxiety, depression, delayed learning, and medical conditions including epilepsy. She has worked within specialist SEMH provision as well as mainstream settings. She is experienced in psychometric testing, interpreting assessment reports, advising on and implementing exam access arrangements, and supporting EHCP applications, reviews, appeals and tribunals. Kate is a member of NASEN and has undertaken extensive specialist training, as well as delivering SEND training to staff and working as an educational consultant to promote inclusive practice.
