Maud's biography

Maud is a current English GCSE Examiner for both Language and Literature and a qualified Secondary Teacher of English up to A-Level. She was previously Head of Literacy in her school, and UCAS/Oxbridge Lead, and is currently CEO of an EdTech company focused on GCSE and A-Level revision. Prior to this, she graduated with an English Literature degree from Clare College, Cambridge, a Masters in Opera from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and an Outstanding PGCE from UCL Institute of Education via the Teach First programme.

She has over 10,000 hours of private tuition experience, teaching English across all of the exam boards at all examination levels, and none of her students have ever received less than a grade 7/A at GCSE or an A at A-Level. In addition to this, she has tutored over five hundred Common Entrance applicants for 11+, 13+ and 16+ and has had success with students applying to all the major UK independent schools. She is available to tutor for GCSE/A-Level exams, for Common Entrance or Oxbridge/University prep, or for proofreading and help with personal statements.

Maud has worked in London as a full-time GCSE English teacher at a top London Comprehensive The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School in Holland Park, as well as at a Pupil Referral Unit in Wembley. She taught Citizenship and RE to GCSE at Reddish Vale High School in Stockport. In 2016 she began teaching Secondary English in East London as a participant of the prestigious Teach First programme, and is also a Futures Mentor for University Applications within the programme. She has a full, clean DBS check and a clean driving license.

Maud offers tutoring in both English Language and Literature (to all levels), and Common Entrance at 7+, 8+, 11+ and 13+ level. She also has extensive expereince with University Admissions, including writing UCAS statements and studying interview techniques, and cаn offer essay-writing tuition.
