Tutor profile - Anna

Anna always dreamt of working in the education sector from a young age. She was inspired by her mother who was also a teacher. Anna has taught English for the last 16 years; this has given her a wealth of experience of educating pupils of varying ages and ability. Her leadership roles have included Middle School English Coordinator and Head of Religious Education.

Having studied to be a teacher at Brunel University, Anna qualified with a First Class degree in English Literature in 2003. Since then she has completed a Master of Arts degree in Nineteenth-Century Literature at King’s College London, as well as completing her Post Graduate Certificate in Education. She also holds a qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Her expertise lies in 11+ English and Verbal Reasoning, having taught Year 6 on numerous occasions. In addition to this, Anna is experienced at tutoring Common Entrance and GCSE, having taught Years 4-12 in both state and independent sectors, whilst working as an examiner for AQA.

As a tutor, Anna’s calm and patient manner puts children at their ease. She hones their current skills, as well as providing them with the means to grow and develop through challenge. Anna is often complimented on her teaching style, which is tailored to the needs of the individual child. She strives to ensure her students enjoy their lessons and boost their confidence. This in turn, has a positive impact on their desire to learn.
