Antonia

Antonia has thirty years teaching experience, having worked in both state and independent sectors and throughout the primary phase. She has most recently spent ten years working in years 5 and 6 specialising in English at an Outer London prep school. In this role she has been responsible for preparing students for both grammar and independent secondary school entrance exams including Whitgift, Ewell Castle, Wilson’s, Wallington Boys, Sutton Grammar and GDST. She has an excellent track record and this year assisted 8 children to reach their goals and pass into their chosen secondary schools.

Antonia has also tutored children privately for entrance exams to a number of local grammar and independent schools, as well as providing support for those children who find English difficult to grasp in the mainstream classroom.

Antonia builds excellent relationships with her students and provides detailed feedback to parents. She adopts a personal and tailored learning style, ensuring that each student feels comfortable and is encouraged to discuss their goals and strengths as well as the areas they may find more challenging. Having worked with many children with additional needs such as dyslexia, ADHD and ASD, and having held the position of Senco for four years in her most recent school, Antonia is very aware of the need to approach each student as an individual with their own unique learning style.
