Tutor profile - Cecilia

Cecilia is a recently retired secondary school teacher, having worked with learners across the curriculum including those who are bilingual. She is English subject trained and has worked as a local education advisor from KS1 - KS5 (ages 5-18).

She has been a SENCO and run a busy English as an Additional Language department, working with students with a wide range of abilities on English, Latin, history and literacy.

She likes to use a three pronged approach - error analysis, repair and rebuild from whatever point it's needed and development into new ground. When the foundations have missing building blocks, for whatever reason, it's hard to catch up and accelerate. She is a great believer in using varied strategies which appeal to different learning styles and engage the student. Each lesson is tailored to build on the last one, using assessment which is constantly updated.
