Isabel has worked with children aiming to attend the following schools:
Isabel has also worked with children preparing to sit the Wandsworth Test.
A graduate of Cambridge University, Isabel has been a full-time professional tutor since 2016. She has taught pupils of all abilities with a diverse range of educational needs, inspiring them to fulfil their potential and to achieve excellent results at 11+, 13+, GCSE, A-Level and IB.
Isabel completed her PGCE at Roehampton University’s prestigious teacher training faculty. During her teaching career, she worked at two Ofsted rated outstanding London schools, teaching English Literature and English Language at KS3, GCSE and A-Level. Consistently judged as an outstanding teacher, Isabel was asked to open her classroom to colleagues and parents to showcase innovative teaching.
Isabel is passionate about keeping up to date with new developments in learning. That is why she was one of the first teachers to train at King's College London in the Let's Think in English programme. This new style of teaching helps students to develop the reasoning skills that are so important for enjoying English and for succeeding in the new GCSE and A-Level exams.
Isabel finds it especially rewarding to work with students one-to-one, focusing on their needs and designing exciting and inspiring lessons. She believes that young people succeed when their learning goals are not abstract or dictated by someone else but are personally meaningful. She takes time to really get to know her students so she can put their learning into this context.
Isabel also believes that students learn best when they can see the real-world application of their knowledge and skills and when they are encouraged to aspire to the highest standards. This is why her own education and professional background is such an asset to her as a tutor. Before training to teach, Isabel worked in the media for six years as a copywriter and communications officer. She can show students how their English studies can empower them to enter this fast paced world, and she knows exactly what it takes to succeed.
When she's not teaching, Isabel loves challenging herself at the climbing wall. She is also a passionate reader and writer and tends to have about six books on the go simultaneously!
Isabel qualified to teach English in 2013, and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Roehampton University.

"Considering that she got an A* , both myself and my daughter are extremely happy with Isabel! She’s a great teacher, she made my daughter feel completely at ease and they had a lot of fun together - which I believe is a key factor in learning. She also coached her in exam technique which, as my daughter had never even sat a mock exam before, was critical to her success. I’m very happy that we will be studying with her again and I have every confidence her."

"Isabel was a wonderful tutor, she was quick to find the places where my son was weak and work on them. She stretched and encouraged him and he went on to be invited to attend scholarship papers at a leading school. We will certainly look to Isabel when GCSE time comes for help. I could not recommend her highly enough."

"Isabel is amazing. She is immensely knowledgeable, thoughtful and caring as an educator for children with diverse personalities. She worked first with our eldest son since the summer, helping him cover a lot of ground, as we lived outside the UK for the past 4 years, and reach a very good level for his 13+ exams. He received two offers and will be attending Whitgift from September. She not only managed to identify and address any gaps but also got him genuinely excited about aspects of literature he would not have discovered. He loved his lessons with Isabel and will be continuing with her to further his writing skills over the next year. We also decided to start early our second son working with Isabel, for his 11+ as she is a phenomenal tutor and he already loves it also. Very well done!"
