Chrissie is an Online Maths Tutor with 12 years of experience tutoring students worldwide. She tutors ages 8 to Adult in Maths (GCSE/IGCSE/A Level/FM A Level and IB, including mechanics and statistics) and provides additional services in 11+ tuition for KS2 (English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning).

Chrissie holds 3 years of teaching experience as a Secondary School Maths teacher (QTS), and has 8 years of experience as an Examiner for Edexcel.

During the Summer months, she has taught at an International Pre-University Summer school (Oxford Royale Academy). working with students aged 16 - 18 who wish to expand their knowledge in Maths beyond the school curriculum to prepare for University. In the summer, she also runs private 11+ Summer Group Sessions for students to sit past paper examinations and gain experience and personalised feedback for preparation for the selective school examinations.

Chrissie is passionate about tutoring and enjoys challenging her students to reach their full potential. Her main focus is transparency and relationships. She believes in creating a productive but friendly environment based on honesty where a tutee is both comfortable and confident and able to make mistakes without being judged. She uses Online tools such as Bitpaper (an online whiteboard) to create interactive activities designed to engage the student and make learning as enjoyable and interesting as possible.

Outside tutoring, Chrissie is an avid sportswoman. Chrissie is a passionate boulderer and enjoys challenging herself to formulate the best solution to climbing puzzles. She enjoys hiking, climbing mountains and dog training to Kennel Club Standards. Socially, Chrissie enjoys meeting for coffees and gaming including board games, video games and LARP (Live Action Role Play) where she attends a wizard-themed school twice a year and EMPIRE (medieval style LARP). Chrissie also enjoys studying as she believes it is important and humbling, to retain the skills required to learn and also be reminded of the patience required to teach. Currently, she is studying Philosophy and writing a course on how to use Graphical Calculators.

Over the past 12 years, I have tutored a wide range of students in selective exams with many achieving selective status at both Grammar school and Independent schools alike.
In the last academic year, 8 students gained selective places in local Grammar Schools and 2 students won a Scholarship to Independent Schools. Additionally, 1 student (Year 11) won a Scholarship to Babington House.
