Tutor profile - Amy

Amy is an experienced primary school teacher of 10 years and is available to tutor children of all primary ages. Amy obtained her PGCE from the University of Cambridge and has since spent most of her teaching career working in Year 6, preparing children for their Key Stage 2 SATs exams. The school in which Amy teaches has high success rates, consistently out performing national and local Key Stage 2 results. In addition to this, Amy has also tutored children for their 7+ and 11+ exam preparation, most recently helping children to achieve places at St Pauls.

Amy is a member of her school's senior leadership team as the year 5 and 6 phase leader. This involves managing and training teaching staff. She also leads on computing across the school. In 2017, she undertook her Masters in Education at the University of Cambridge where she conducted research into teaching practices to enhance self regulated learning.

Amy has excellent interpersonal skills and develops positive relationships with the children she supports. She is committed to helping young people succeed and always creates a caring environment which focuses on boosting children's confidence. She is highly adept at planning interactive, fun and challenging lessons. She also takes the time to get to know children she works with, ensuring she understands pupils' strengths, weaknesses and their preferred style of learning.
