That’s why all of our tutors are not only certified educators but have also successfully passed our rigorous assessment process, proving they are truly exceptional teachers!
Our hourly rates start from £70.00 and increase depending on experience and availability. Please see the table below for indicative price ranges for different types and levels of tutoring.

A placement fee of £95 is payable for each tutor that is introduced to you - this will only be charged if a tuition session takes place and will be added to your first invoice.
There are no registration fees. This means that you can meet a tutor without having to pay anything. You will only be invoiced if you engage one of our tutors to deliver tuition after having discussed your requirements with them.

How can I save money when using an Owl Tutor
Consider online tuition if you have not already done so. Most students at KS2 or above will have no problem engaging just as efficiently with an online tutor than a face to face one. Face to face tuition can be up to 50% more expensive for the same tutor!
Consider shorter sessions. Most tuition sessions are one hour. 40 minute sessions can often be effective and could reduce your fees by 33%.
Find out if there are times that you can offer to your tutor that are more convenient for them. Most tutors find it difficult to fill their hours during the day (9am to 3pm) in the week. Many of them will accept lower rates at these times.

Joseph, an esteemed educator with over 15 years of teaching experience at one of the country's foremost independent secondary schools, embarked on his journey in education after completing a PGCE at Roehampton University, equipping himself with the necessary skills to inspire and educate future generations.
Throughout his career, Joseph has taught Design Engineering and Computing, fostering a deep understanding of a variety of subjects. His dedication to academic excellence and personal growth has led to successful tutoring experiences in 11+ mathematics, where he prepares students for entrance exams with a tailored approach focused on building confidence and addressing knowledge gaps.
Joseph's teaching philosophy revolves around empowering students to become independent learners. In addition to his extensive classroom teaching experience, Joseph has also had the opportunity to provide personalised school entrance tutoring, particularly focusing on Maths, to a student aiming to gain admission to prestigious institutions. Between January 2021 and January 2022, he dedicated significant time to offering online 11 Plus Maths tutoring in preparation for entrance exams at Dulwich College, Trinity, and Whitgift.
During this period, Joseph worked closely with the student, tailoring his instruction to address their individual needs and bolster his confidence in tackling the intricacies of mathematical concepts. While he, unfortunately, did not pass the first-stage assessment at Dulwich College due to nerves impacting his performance, he successfully passed the entrance exams at Trinity and Whitgift and was invited for interviews. Although neither school offered a scholarship or bursary, his parents expressed profound gratitude for the transformation they witnessed in their child's confidence and abilities throughout the tutoring process.
Reflecting on his school entrance tutoring experience, Joseph is proud to have played a role in guiding the student through the rigorous admissions process and supporting them in achieving their academic goals. While success rates and scholarship awards are important markers of achievement, his primary focus has always been on fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where each student feels empowered to excel. Joseph has successfully completed the Owl Tutors training course in 11 Plus exam preparation. This means they have a thorough understanding of the structure, content and demands of these exams and are qualified to prepare students. Training is delivered by Holly, a highly experienced school entrance tutor and member of the Owl Tutors team.
