Tutor profile - Valentina

Valentina is an enthusiastic and highly experienced teacher and tutor. She has years of experience teaching English in an Ofsted Outstanding grammar school, as well as being a pastoral lead (Head of Year/House) and developing an established tutoring career alongside.

Valentina has substantial expertise in teaching KS2 up to and including KS5. Her passionate teaching ensures every child is successful and creates positive, memorable learning experiences. The children and young people Valentina tutors thrive and make significant progress. Her lessons are student-led and focused on clear learning outcomes that will allow the student to achieve their goals. Valentina has worked with children from a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds and has strategies to support children with EAL. Valentina spends time finding out the current topics the children are studying, their strengths and areas of concern. With this knowledge, she pre-teaches the students and creates a learning plan that runs alongside their classroom teaching. This is successful in giving students the tools they need to tackle each topic and confidence to do so. Furthermore, Valentina individually tailors resources for every tutee, for use during lessons and as consolidation work. By creating high quality and stimulating resources she is successful in making all pupils feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Valentina has a wonderful sense of humour and a sensitive, approachable and professional teaching style which enables her to relate positively to tutees of all ages, their teachers and their families. Both previous students and parents regularly give highly positive feedback for her individualised approach, her valuable support and the high levels of progress that Valentina has helped achieve.
