Tutor profile - Beth

Beth started her journey in education in her teenage years when she started assisting at her ballet school and since then it has been all she has wanted to do. She continued on to university where she completed her degree in Ballet Education at the Royal Academy of Dance. After working in schools for a while teaching ballet she started to fall in love with the school environment and wider education in Early Years and Key stage 1.

Beth started working in a school and completed her PGCE with a Level 7 distinction and worked at Charterhouse Square School in Barbican for five years teaching Reception and Year 1. Alongside this she also took on private tutoring opportunities with children at the school that needed extra help to develop skills that they struggled with due to SEN; for 7+ exams for schools such as City and The Hall School; and EAL for pupils who had moved to UK after living abroad.

Over these years at Charterhouse Square, Beth helped children get into their preferred schools; helped a girl develop her confidence with English who had left Russia at the beginning of the conflict; helped children develop a love of reading and writing despite struggling with literacy in class; and has worked with children with SEN on improving their abilities in an environment tailored to their needs.

She has since moved to the south coast and would love to continue helping to educate young people and help them develop their skills to be the best that they can. Beth specialises in SEN in Early years and Key stage 1, EAL in Primary education and 7+ tutoring.
