Owl Tutors is set up to represent tutors as their agent. We work to find clients for the tutors that we represent. Our tutors then work directly for clients to meet their needs. We work for our tutors and bill our tutors for our services which means that our primary responsibility is to ensure that we are doing the best possible job for our tutors.

We reward our tutors

We have set exceptionally high requirements for our tutors. As we only work with the best qualified teachers that we can find, we are able to source work for our tutors that is well above average rates of pay for the tutoring industry. Our current levels of net income to tutors ranges from £30 to £100 per hour with an average of £55 per hour.

We work to find you the best clients

We are striving to be the best tuition agent in the world. As a result of this we tend to receive enquiries from clients that are willing to pay a premium for the best. Access to the clients we are able to source is one of the main reasons that we are able to recruit the exceptional tutors that we have found to date.

We build your profile and brand

We work with our tutors to build their credibility and capabilities. We speak with our more prolific tutors on a regular basis in order to direct their content generation efforts and to apply marketing budgets when we are trying to fill their capacity.

Our fees are clear and transparent

We believe in honesty. If you ever want to find out more about the financial agreements that are in place for your clients all you need to do is ask! We will take up to 40% of the value of an engagment (plus VAT) but never more. We often reduce our margin in order to expedite the process of placing our tutors with their clients. One of our long term objectives is to reduce our maximum margin over time in order to deliver more value to our tutors for the amazing work that they do.

We provide alternative income opportunities

We work together with the tutors that we represent to build their businesses and to generate income from alternative sources other than tutoring. We generate content that is generally free for all of our website users to use in order to market our business. We are engaged with a number of tutors to produce this content most of which is paid for. We currently finance blog posts and exam papers and are hoping to add video content, training courses and podcasts in due course!

Increase your efficiency

If you are being paid £40 an hour for online tuition for a subject that you have a lot of expertise in and so do not need to perform much preparation work, your hourly rate will be close to £40. If you need to travel 45 minutes each way for a job that you also have to perform one hour of preparation for, your hourly rate will be £12.86 if you are receiving £40 an hour for the job. We work with our tutors to find them online tuition work and help them to focus on the tuition subjects that they are best placed to teach. This can involve Owl Tutors managing your diary through to making one of our tutors the worldwide authority for their qualification and subject specialism.

Generate free resources

One of our core principles is that teaching resources should be free. As such you will benefit as a tutor by having access to the content that we are generating but also the tutors that are helping us to generate this content.
