Isabelle

In the first year of GCSEs my daughter struggled with some of the sciences, chemistry in particular. She started lessons with Isabelle at Owl Tutors a year before the final GCSE exams as we didn’t want any last minute panic. I liked the fact that Isabelle was not only highly qualified in her subject but also had training in education. She also did some biology lessons with my daughter for some of the trickier subjects. Because of the pandemic all tutoring had to be done online. It quickly became clear that Isabelle has all the required qualities to make an excellent tutor. Every lesson topic is planned and agreed in advance. She is well organised and punctual. Even more importantly, she is extremely patient, calm and went over past material as often as necessary without making my daughter feel awkward in any way. Isabelle’s steady and kind approach proved invaluable in what has been a tough year for students. Her monthly progress summary is detailed and comprehensive. We could not recommend Isabelle more highly and are very grateful for her hard work and dedication.

Our 13 year old was greatly helped by having maths sessions with Isabelle. She was clear, consistent and patient, making sure he understood each task before moving on and always revising the work covered at the previous session at the start of each new lesson.

We all loved Isabelle. She was impeccable in her times and very professional. She and our son developed an excellent report and he ended up getting a A** in Chemistry. So couldn’t be happier. We are back in Australia. If Isabelle was here we would still have her tutor the boys!

Isabelle is a calm, focused and professional tutor. She tutored our daughter in GCSE Maths and Chemistry on alternate weeks in preparation for her exams. This was an excellent way of supplementing her full-time learning without overloading her. Isabelle was able to fill in any gaps, tackle difficult questions and help build confidence in both subject areas. This resulted in a two point increase in her grades and was achieved without undue anxiety or stress. Isabelle was always on time, well organised and gave her time generously, preparing work for the sessions and following up with information where needed. I would not hesitate to recommend Isabelle and her experience in multiple subject areas is a definite plus.

It is with great pleasure that I recommend Isabelle as a science tutor. She has been working with my son, a reluctant student, on all three sciences as set by the GCSE syllabus, for the last many months. The difference in his academic performance has been dramatic. Isabelle is an impressively calm and patient teacher, willing to re-visit topics until knowledge is secure. She is also flexible and fluid between the subjects; their weekly sessions focus on my son's needs at the time, not necessarily the chronology of the syllabus. Isabelle has provided GCSE preparatory triple science and maths tutoring for our son since September last year. She is very experienced and her teaching background is a real benefit. Together with her sound subject knowledge this ensures effective and efficient tutoring. Our son enjoys the sessions with her as she manages to create a comfortable and friendly learning environment. She is also reliable, punctual and organised.

Isabelle has been tutoring my son in Maths and Science since September. She is an excellent tutor. My son enjoys his sessions with her and he says she makes everything easy to understand.
