Tutor profile - Jasmine

Jasmine has over 12 years’ experience as a secondary school English Teacher and Head of Year and is currently working as an English Supply Teacher for a Harris Academy as well as a Private Tutor, with over 300+ hours’ worth of tutoring experience across KS2-KS4.

As a qualified and experienced teacher, she is efficient and organised and relates very well to young students. Jasmine is successfully able to establish appropriate boundaries and relationships with her students.

She excels in helping students to exceed their target grades in GCSE English Language and English Literature. She is also very confident with the expectations and criteria for the Speaking and Listening component of the examination.

Jasmine has marked GCSE papers on behalf of the AQA Examination board and will be marking on their behalf this Summer. She is also familiar with the Cambridge iGCSE and EdExcel Examination boards.

As well as GCSE students, Jasmine is able to support KS2 and KS3 students in all aspects of their English studies.

Jasmine holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English Language and Communication (Linguistics) from Kingston University, followed by her Post Graduate Certificate in the School-Centred Initial Teacher Training Course from Bromley Schools’ Collegiate.

Jasmine's passion is to support anxious parents and students; challenge high achievers and motivate underachievers to reach their full potential. She has worked with students who have a wide range of Special Education Needs i.e. Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Hearing Impairment, SLCN, SEMH, SpLD and MLD.

Jasmine's tutoring style offers bespoke support to increase confidence in students' ability to express themselves and communicate effectively through different mediums, inside and outside of education.

She values the necessity to instil confidence and self-esteem in students by listening to them; building rapport and meeting their learning style/needs, to assist them in reaching their full potential.
