Tutor profile - Anna

Anna gained her BA at the University of Warwick and her MA at University College London. She obtained her PGCE at Portsmouth University and her National Award in SEN Coordination at Christ's Church Canterbury University. She has worked as a Key Stage 2 Sats marker with Pearson. She has twenty years' teaching experience in the state, international and private sectors as a class teacher, intervention teacher, SENCO and Modern Foreign Language lead.

Anna has also taught English Language, English Literature and English as an Additional Language GCSEs as well as English Language Acquisition IB Diploma. She therefore has an excellent insight into the whole school journey and is skilled in identifying gaps in learning and next steps for progress. She loves teaching English and maths and has been involved in a Maths Mastery professional development programme.

Anna knows that pupils thrive if they feel at ease with their tutor, and that this results from a teacher's ability to both challenge and support the learner, skills that derive from a combination of excellent subject knowledge and compassion.
