Raj has worked with children aiming to attend the following schools:
I used to help set the Entrance Exam for Sherborne School (13+). I have tutored for several years for entry in to local Grammar Schools or Canford School, usually 5 or 6 successes each year, with no fails.
Raj has a very strong Mathematical background having studied for degrees in Mathematics at Keele University (BA Hons) and Oxford University (MSc), and has over 35 years teaching experience in Private Schools, Grammar Schools and Colleges.
He is also a tutor for Oxford Home Schooling and for three Mathematics modules at The Open University. He has had articles published in "Mathematics in Schools" and several worksheets on teachitmaths.co.uk.
He has provided private tuition also for about 35 years now, and has had literally hundreds of successful students credited to his record over that time. This includes helping many students get into Oxbridge, Private Schools and Grammar Schools (including his own daughter). He has also taught Christian Bale - the actor who played Batman!
He has a tremendous passion for Maths and likes to make Maths fun and accessible to all. Students find him very approachable, patient and easy to learn from. He prides himself in providing first class tuition through his years of experience and excellent subject knowledge. Having set many exams over the years he also teaches students precisely how to answer exam questions to maximise their marks.
Many of his students have gone on to Oxbridge or Russell Group and other top universities. The vast majority of his younger pupils have gained entry to top Independent Schools.
He caters for all levels and all ages : Basic Maths, Entrance Exams, 11+, 13+, SATs, GCSE, AS/A Level, Further Maths, IB, etc. He taught for 5 Years at Sherborne (Boys) School, 20 Years at Bournemouth Grammar School and 9 years at an Independent College in Bournemouth as a Maths Teacher and Head of Statistics.
Raj qualified to teach Maths in 1988, and holds a QTS from Dorset County Council.

Student of IB Higher Level Maths
We collect references for all of our tutors when they join. Not all referees agree to have their reference publically listed, but when they do we show them here.
In the years I worked with Rajiv, he always exhibited an outstanding subject knowledge of mathematics, was innovative in his methods of teaching and taught with constructive humour. He was very conscientious in keeping his I T knowledge up to date and was able to integrate it into his teaching with considerable success. He was always supportive of colleagues and was a constructive and successsful member of our teaching team. Rajiv was much in demand as a tutor during that time and I note from my contact with him in recent times he has continued to successfully maintain his tutoring career.
